Our history
On June 1, 1946, the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR was established in accordance with Resolution No. 439, which was adopted by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR, the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR, and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan.

In accordance with the resolution of the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR of October 26, 1945, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR, the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR and the Central Committee of the Communist Party (b) of Kazakhstan adopted resolution No. 439 ‘On the establishment of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR’ on the basis of the existing branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
MARCH 11 | 1996
By Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 2895 “On measures to improve the system of state management of science in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Ministry of Science and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan were merged into a central executive body within the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan — the Ministry of Science — the Academy Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Further, on February 12, 1999. the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan was formally established as a republican state institution through Presidential Decree No. 34 of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

DECEMBER 14 | 2022
By Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 14, 2022 No. 1003, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan decided to create a non-profit joint-stock company “National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (hereinafter referred to as the company) with 100% state participation in the authorized capital.

By Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 152 “On Certain Issues of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, the non-profit joint stock company “National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan” was renamed into the non-profit joint stock company “National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan” under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
APRIL 11 | 2023
By Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 11, 2023 No. 281, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan decided to rename the non-profit joint-stock company “National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan” into the non-profit joint-stock company “National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan” under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
