The National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) Strengthen Strategic Partnership

On July 16, 2024, the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NAS RK) hosted a meeting with a delegation from the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). The NAS RK was represented by Vice-President Abay Serikkanov, Lyazzat Yeraliyeva, and Anar Mukhtarova, Head of the Center for Scientific and Technical Cooperation. The CAST delegation included Executive Vice President of CAST, His Excellency Shu Wei, Director General of the China Center for International Science and Technology Exchange Su Xiaojun, and other officials.

The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) is the largest national organization uniting scientific and technical societies and associations in China. Founded in 1958, CAST plays a key role in promoting scientific research and innovation, popularizing science, and developing international scientific and technical exchange.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the exchange of young scientists, improving the quality of scientific and technical journals, and interaction within multilateral mechanisms.

His Excellency Shu Wei invited representatives of the NAS RK to participate in the World Science Forum and the Young Scientists Meeting, which will be held in China in October and November of this year.

The parties expressed confidence in the further strengthening of scientific ties aimed at solving urgent scientific and technical problems, and also agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on scientific and technical cooperation in the framework of future meetings.
