International Summer School on Ecology and Information and Communication Technologies

On August 19, 2024, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Kazakh-British Technical University, jointly launched the International Summer School on Ecology and Information and Communication Technologies for the first time.

The aim of the International Summer School is to integrate science, education, and industry, develop human resources, and attract young scientists and students to science in the field of environmental safety and information and communication technologies.

At the opening of the Summer School, welcome speeches were given by the Chairman of the Board — Rector of the Kazakh-British Technical University, Gabdullin M.T.; Head of the Center for Agro-Bioresources and Ecology Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alamanova Zh. S.; Head of the ESG Laboratory of the Kazakh-British Technical University, Syrlubayeva B. R.; and Deputy Chairman of the UNECE Committee on Sustainable Energy, Laumulina Ch. T.

Participants of the event emphasized the importance of international cooperation and an interdisciplinary approach in overcoming the global climate crisis, aiming to bring together students and young scientists who are concerned about modern environmental issues. They also discussed the development of artificial intelligence in science and education.

This event serves as an important platform for international cooperation between science, education, and business, aimed at discussing and identifying issues, trends, and risks in the fields of ecology and ICT.

As part of the Summer School, leading scientists from Kazakhstan, Germany, and Russia will conduct lectures, training sessions, master classes, and a foresight session until August 23 of this year for students, master’s and doctoral students, teachers, and young scientists from various countries.

More than 100 students and young scientists participated in the opening of the International Summer School, both in person and online.
