On October 29, 2024, a ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (NAS KR) was held at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic Hall named after T. Satylganov in Bishkek. The event was attended by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NAS RK), Akhylbek Kurishbayev.
The meeting was opened by the President of the NAS KR, Corresponding Member of the NAS KR K.E. Abdrakhmatov, who delivered a substantive report on the achievements of the academy and its role in the development of science in the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the ceremonial meeting, welcoming speeches were delivered by high-ranking guests, including the Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Zh.K. Isaeva, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic E.Zh. Baisalov, as well as ambassadors from several foreign countries, including the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.K. Kurishbayev, the Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences V.Ya. Panchenko, the Vice President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences Tserendorj Tsegmed, the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen, the Executive Director of the International Scientific and Technical Center David Clive, the Chairman of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences V.N. Parmon, the Chief Scientific Secretary of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan G.A. Bakhadirov, and the Director for International Cooperation of the National Research Center «Kurchatov Institute» Yu.N. Nesterchuk.
As part of the anniversary events, an exhibition showcasing the achievements of the NAS KR was held, along with the signing of memorandums and agreements, demonstrating the intention of the academies to deepen cooperation in the fields of science and education.
In his speech, Akhylbek Kurishbayev emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial partnerships between the academies, which open new horizons for scientific research and projects that meet the interests of both fraternal countries. He noted that joint efforts in the scientific field are a guarantee of sustainable development of science and technology not only in our countries but also in the broader region.
The National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan sincerely congratulates the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic on its anniversary and expresses hope for further success in scientific activities, as well as for the strengthening of friendly ties and cooperation between our countries.
