Almaty, June 18, 2025 — The city hosted a landmark meeting with top experts from Singapore in science and STEM education. At “Gylym Ordasy,” the Singapore National Academy of Science and Science Centre Singapore met with the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The meeting supported the national initiative to build Kazakhstan’s first world-class Children’s Science Museum.

On the Kazakh side, Vice Presidents Prof. Dr. Askar Jumadildayev and Prof. Dr. Abay Serikkanov, and heads of scientific centers attended. Discussions included joint projects, academic exchanges, and youth researcher training.

Special attention was given to the initiative of the Children’s Science Museum in Almaty — supported by the President of Kazakhstan and in line with Government Decree №764-kbp.

The Singapore delegation shared expertise in science center operations, teacher training, and youth science engagement. The museum will receive a special license to use Science Centre Singapore’s educational content and IP.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to establish a partnership, create a joint Scientific Advisory Board, and localize content to Kazakhstan’s context.
