President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kunsulu Zakarya participated in the meeting organized by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov.
The event was attended by representatives of the CIS countries. They discussed the definition and recognition of scientific degrees between the parties, and discussed the prospects of reaching a common agreement.
Valery Falkov thanked Kunsulu Zakarya for participating in the meeting and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries.
Also, Kunsulu Zakarya spoke at the meeting of the JAC of the Russian Federation, where he has been a member since August. The meeting was held within the framework of the 90th anniversary of the JAC. At the meeting, ways of developing a draft agreement on mutual recognition of scientific degrees in the CIS space were discussed.
Vladimir Filippov, chairman of the JAC, said, «Such an agreement provides great opportunities for scientists and researchers. It allows to go to other countries and become a candidate, doctor of science there. There are other perspectives. For example, candidates for a scientific degree can publish articles not only in Russia, but also in publications of the CIS countries,» he said.
