On June 13, 2025, the official visit of academicians and representatives of academic and scientific communities from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the People’s Republic of China to the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place at the «Gylym Ordasy» building.
The primary objective of the visit was to strengthen international scientific cooperation, establish direct professional contacts, and discuss prospects for implementing joint scientific projects in fundamental and applied research, including sustainable energy and the engagement of young scientists in international initiatives.
The visit featured a rich and well-structured program, which included a ceremonial welcome of the delegations at the main entrance of the “Gylym Ordasy” building, followed by a guided tour of the historic halls of the Academy and the Kanysh Satbayev Museum.
During the event, the guests were presented with an overview of the Academy’s current activities. The key areas of work were introduced by Vice President of the Academy, Dr. Didar Batryshev, and Head of the Center for Scientific and Technical Cooperation, Dr. Anar Mukhtarova. The program concluded with a substantive discussion on potential formats of cooperation, including joint research, co-authored publications, academic exchange programs, and the implementation of interdisciplinary initiatives.
Among the honored guests were: Dr. Mamadsho Ilolov, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan; Dr. Saidmukum Ibodov, Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan; Dr. Qodir Gulyamov and Dr. Mukhsinjon Ashurov, Academicians of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan; Dr. Akmal Akhatov, Vice-Rector of Samarkand State University; and Dr. Saidakhmat Lakaev, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and Professor at Samarkand State University.
The Chinese delegation included Prof. He Ya-Ling, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Prof. Bie Zhaohong, Executive Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University; Professor Wan Qiuwang, Dean of the School of Energy and Power Engineering; and Professor Sofiya Ushurova.
Particular attention was given to the participation of leading industrial and energy corporations from China. The delegation included Mr. Wang Jinjun, Vice President of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Co.; Mr. Liu Qi, Central Asia Regional Director; Mr. Cao Honghai, President and General Manager of Wuxi Chemical Equipment Co., Ltd.; and Deputy General Managers of China Energy Digital Technology Group Co., Ltd.: Mr. Jun Li, Mr. Yong’an Chen, and Mr. Li Size.
During the negotiations, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in fostering sustainable scientific dialogue and expressed their readiness to expand cooperation.
