On April 25-26, 2024, working meetings were held where Vice President of the Academy, Professor Lyazzat Yeraliyeva, Head of the Department of Scientific and Technical Cooperation Anar Mukhtarova and Chief Academic Officer of the Center for Life and Health Sciences Dinara Satmbekova and representatives of the Shenzhen University Medical School, Professor Xingzhi (Xavier) Xu, PhD, Executive Dean of the Shenzhen University Medical School, and Ayma Adylova, Master of Public Health, official international representative of this university. The parties discussed prospects for bilateral scientific cooperation.
The meeting also attended by the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, Science, and Cooperation, Board Member of WKMU, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Gulmira Zhurbekova, who emphasized the importance of strategic partnership between universities to strengthen scientific and educational ties.
During the discussions, opportunities for expanding cooperation in healthcare and medicine including joint research and academic exchanges were considered. Special attention was given to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between West Kazakhstan Medical University (WKMU) and the Shenzhen University Medical School, which will form the basis for further strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
The outcome of the meeting was a mutual understanding of the need for active development of scientific cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of medicine and healthcare, look for the opportunity to create joint research centre, which will be an important step towards strengthening international scientific ties and promoting innovations in the medical field.
